History

The VIUcam pilot project was initiated in Spring of 2008 by Facilties Services and Campus Development and was developed together with VIU's Communications & IT Departments as a tool to give the VIU community virtually live feedback on weather, parking and other interesting activities & events on campus. Research was performed on systems used by other organizations, including municipalities & alpine resorts. The Nanaimo Campus VIUcam was officially running as of Fall 2008.

While the majority of the moving at VIU can be as simple and straight forward as moving a file cabinet from one room to another some moves can get very complicated when it starts to involve whole rooms of furniture and many people.

This page has been developed to provide the resources required to organize the more complicated moves.

If a move is not properly planned it will end up in a real mess which can lead to many frustrating moments and hours or days of lost production. Please use contact the Facilities Services office if you require specific.
