Historically, Student Residences was limited in providing only shared bedrooms and bathrooms to students of the same gender only.
Indigenous Community (ILLC) October 4, 2024 - 4:05pm

This community is an opportunity for Indigenous students to connect, share, and build a culturally rich community of respect, peer support, and mentorship.

Programming, events, and ceremony are designed with guidance and partnership from the Office for Indigenous Education and Engagement and Services for Aboriginal Students at VIU.

All room in this community are together in Townhouse 6 and students have the option of Modern Double or Modern Single room styles.

Intro to LLC

Living Learning Communities (LLCs) are residential programs that connect students together around a shared common focus. A Living Learning Community supports student success by broadening opportunities for learning and deepening a student's sense of belonging while living on campus.  In LLCs, students are placed into smaller communities in close proximity with each other – either on the same floor or in the same building community.

In addition to your Residence application, you may optionally apply to one of our specific Living-Learning Communities (LLC).
