Living Communities (LC)

Intro to Living Communities

Living Communities (LCs) are student housing programs that connect students together around a shared common focus. A Living Community supports student success by broadening opportunities for learning and deepening a student's sense of belonging while living on campus.  In LCs, students are placed into smaller communities in close proximity with each other – either on the same floor or in the same building community.

In addition to your Student Housing application, you may optionally apply to one of our specific Living Communities (LC).

At this time VIU Student Housing offers three LC, the Indigenous Living Community, Gender Inclusive Housing, and Mature Student Housing.  Our hope is to create more living communities in the near future!
