VIU Welcome Centre ramp replacement April 2, 2024 - 3:16pm

Background

VIU’s Welcome Centre, cafeteria, library, Campus Store and the Malaspina Theatre all surround the Nanaimo campus' main courtyard, called the quad. The path between the quad and the main entrance and visitor parking area is heavily used. The existing ramp at this intersection is steep, narrow and lacks handrails on both sides. It is also concealed behind a thick concrete wall with tall bushes in front of it and does not meet current codes and standards.

The Universal Access Committee (UAC) was founded in 2017. We are committed to removing boundaries at VIU, both small and large.  

To date, the UAC has raised over 6 million dollars that is being used for accessibility upgrades on campus.

Guest Parking Coupon Code Request January 5, 2024 - 10:47am

Guest Parking Coupons codes are used for departmental guests on campus. Departments can request any coupon code/dollar amount needed. There is a $10 administration fee applied to all new coupons.
