There are ten Student Housing buildings located in the western area of the Nanaimo campus offering a variety of accommodation. The Cedar Center building 4 is the main office and administration hub of the student housing buildings where you will find front desk, the Community Life office, mailboxes, and laundry facilities. |

| About the Universal Access Committee | September 10, 2024 - 11:11pm |
The Universal Access Committee (UAC) was founded in 2017 as an ad hoc committee. It is sponsored by the VP Admin/CFO, and reports to the Director of Campus Development. The UAC helps Campus Development to identify, remove and prevent accessibility barriers related to the built environment. To date, the UAC has raised just under $7 million in off-grant funding that is being used for accessibility upgrades on all campuses. |

The important thing to remember about VIU Student Housing is that it is not another apartment building. In fact, just by living in Student Housing you automatically get membership into one of the most active groups on campus, Community Life. |

The Community Leaders live in student housing to help residents have a network of people to reach out to for questions, help, and solutions to problems they may be experiencing. Therefore, they are heavily involved within the Student Housing community and help create healthy relationships within Student Housing. |

RockVIU: Student Housing Orientation week is full of loud music, games, and activities that can be overstimulating to some people, especially on our typical move-in days. There are loud onboarding activities happening in Student Houisng and on VIU’s campus from 8 AM - 11 PM every day. If you are someone who can be overstimulated by crowded spaces, loud noises and loud music, but want to attend welcome week, we recommend that you utilize our “Quiet Move-In” times. |
